What is the point of balconies? What are they good for?
Why do we need a room that is outside?
When you want to go outside, go outside!
You donīt need a room for that! There is enough space when you walk out the front door.
And when you just want fresh air, open the window!
So, a balcony doesnīt really make sense to me.
Maybe once a burglar had a friend who was an architect and he told him he could add a room outside to a house.
The burglar got annoyed from having so many difficulties getting in a house so he wanted something what he can use to climb up a house easier, what gives him cover and where he can rest a while checking out the house from outside.
So they invented the balcony.
In fact often itīs better to add something to a product that doesnīt make sense than adding something that makes sense, cause it would distract them from the main function.
Itīs often that they add something that only makes it look better.
For example a Pez dispenser. A Pez dispenser doesnīt make sense, but people like it.
Or they integrate senseless features, like in a cell phone. Many people actually buy little pictures for their cell phones.
They have to call an expensive number and then they receive a little pic, which infact doesn’t even look any good. Even if it was, I wouldnīt look at it anyway.
Either I have my cell phone in my pocket or next to my ear. My ear canīt enjoy that picture!
Since women love cell phones because they can talk a lot on it and they love making themselves look stylish, why don’t they sell cell phones with an integrated mirror and some eye-shadow colors?
That would be a top seller!
Itīs all about the money!
They donīt sell that, because women would be too busy looking in the mirror to make phone calls.
So they only add software which is mostly senseless or really seldomly used. That is much cheaper and the women still keep talking a lot on it.
That must have also been the reason that the burglar gave to the architect.
He couldnīt tell him his real reasons, so he might of gone like,
“Hey, you could add a room outside. You wouldnīt have to install a heater and a lamp.
That is much cheaper! Let the people find a use for it. They find a use for nearly everything!”
